Erika de Casier shares new album Lifetime

Her surprise-released fourth project follows 2024’s Still.
Erika de Casier makes pop music for people who stand in the corner of the rave, observing; when it’s time to go home, they put on some gentle grooves in their headphones, their bodies still charged with the heat and electricity of the party. A beloved cult figure for her luxurious production inspired by William Orbit-era pop and trip-hop, de Casier shades her the overwhelming blues and chromes with a vibrant search for love, whether it’s colored by loss or excited by the promise of something new.
After releasing her third album Still last year, de Casier has surprise-released a new full-length called Lifetime. Last year she also teamed up with producer Nick Leon for “Bikini,” our favorite song of the year.
In a press release, de Casier reveals that the original working title of the album was Midnight Caller. “I wanted it to be a form of communication during the night.” She continues: “There’s an underlying feeling of mortality, knowing that time is going exponentially faster the older you get, a fear of death and of looking and feeling old and being grateful for what was, is, and will be.”
