Wireless is the U.K.’s biggest rap and R&B festival, an annual event that acts as a rare opportunity for British fans to see some of the biggest U.S. stars perform. This year, however, was a little different with Drake staging a takeover of all three days of the festival, performing a tailor-made set each night.

The three nights were reflective of Drake’s broad musical remit: an R&B night on Friday, a rap set on Saturday and then, to close proceedings, Sunday was dancehall day.

This meant Drake could perform songs like “Marvin’s Room” and cuts from PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album $ome $exy $songs 4 U on the Friday, new song “What Did I Miss?” on Saturday, and lean into his island persona on the Sunday with a medley of “Controlla,” “One Dance,” and “Passionfruit.” It also meant he could bring an all-star line-up of guests onto the stage.

Among the big names to join Drake at Wireless this year were Lauryn Hill, who performed “Nice For What” with Drake as well as U.K. rap idols Central Cee, Dave, and J Hus. Drake also showed that he is tapped in with the new gen of U.K. artists, bringing Fakemink out to play comfortably the biggest show of his career so far.

One of the most attention grabbing moments of the festival came on the Saturday when Drake told the audience that “London rappers are the best lyricists in the world.” Backing up his claim, he went on to add: “No disrespect to America but nobody in the world can outrap London rappers. This is the highest level, this is what I aspire to be.”

Finally, on the Sunday night, Drake introduced Rema to the stage with the Nigerian artist playing a five song set. Vybz Kartel also made an appearance, markinf the first time in two decades he had played live in the U.K.
