A viral TikTok hit and a Twilight connection led the Queens native to her most high-profile collaboration.
Drake’s latest single “Dog House” opens on buzzing guitar chords, an expressive melody, and moody vocals. They belong to alt-pop singer Julia Wolf, whose involvement in the intro is sharply distinct from the rest of the song.
When Drake first teased the collab on Instagram with a black-and-white image of Wolf, he signaled the most high-profile collaboration of the singer’s career. While she might have been an unfamiliar face for Drake’s audience, many would recognize her guitar-heavy smash hit “In My Room,” which went viral on TikTok. Wolf has already built a sizable fanbase on the back of her dark and gothic persona and a genre-melding sound that takes her from indie-pop to alternative rock and back.

Here’s what you need to know about the singer’s career, her work with Drake, and her unexpected connection to Twilight.
Who is Julia Wolf?
Julia Wolf is a 30-year-old singer from Queens, New York, now living in Los Angeles. She released her first EP, Girls In Purgatory, in 2021, followed by her debut album, Good Thing We Stayed, in 2023.
2025 has been Wolf’s breakout year, spurred on by the viral success of her single “In My Room,” which amassed over 41 million streams on Spotify. The track found particular resonance with Twilight fans, whose enthusiastic edits were crucial to exposing Wolf to new audiences.
Wolf leaned into a dark goth aesthetic even more on her sophomore album, PRESSURE, which was released on May 23, 2025. With gory album art and songs titled “Jennifer’s Body,” “Kill You Off,” and “You’ve Lost A Lot of Blood,” Wolf continued cultivating her persona as she pushed her sound to new territory, leaning into heavier rock influences. This past summer, she went on her first headlining world tour and even opened for Halsey.
How did Julia Wolf and Drake meet?
It’s not clear when the two artists decided to work together, but Drake and Wolf have been hinting at a collaboration for months.
In May, Julia was featured in an interview with BeatBox and discussed her initial interaction with the rapper, who sent her an Instagram DM. “That was literally insane,” the singer said. “And I have to say, he’s been super nice and encouraging and took the time to listen to the [PRESSURE] album, which is crazy…We’re not friends, but it wasn’t just a DM. I think he likes my artistry and he thinks there’s something special there.”
Since then, Drake has been spotted liking Wolf’s posts on Instagram, and he attended Wolf’s show in Toronto in June 2025. Wolf posted a picture of them together, thanking the rapper, and Drake shared the same image, captioned, “when she asks what I listen to.”
She’s a huge Twilight fan
Wolf, a self-certified Twilight fan, got her start by posting TikToks where she edited her song “In My Room” into scenes from the Twilight movies. They quickly caught on among fans, who thought the track’s somber tone and longing lyrics captured the atmosphere of the series.
Wolf later embraced her association with the movies when she filmed one of her music videos in Forks, Washington, the setting of the movies. She even gave an acoustic performance in Bella Swan’s actual (movie) house.
Her latest album, PRESSURE, is filled with dark, dynamic songs with big feelings
PRESSURE, released in May, shows the range of Wolf’s clearly formidable command of alt-pop. There’s “Limewire,” which features warbled, distorted vocals that sound like they’ve traveled through water.
Standout song “Loser” oscillates between heavy guitar riffs and a psychedelic bass-infused, trap-strewn melody, while the album’s closer, “You’ve Lost A Lot of Blood,” is a pensive, vulnerable ballad that concludes with a final outburst.
