The signer was suspended above the crowd in Houston’s NRG Arena when one of the support cables for her prop car failed; she was lowered to the ground without injury.

Beyoncé’s aerial performance of “16 Carriages” in Houston’s NRG stadium on Saturday night was interrupted when the flying prop car she was singing from started shifting to one side as it soared above the crowd.

Initially, many in the audience did not appear sure if the tilting was part of the show – until the singer abruptly said, “Stop, stop, stop,” as she clung to the cables keeping the car suspended. After a few tense minutes, the singer was lowered safely to the ground.

“I want to thank y’all for loving me,” Beyoncé said, appearing back onstage to finish the performance. “If ever I fall, I know y’all would catch me.”

Beyoncé’s management company Parkwood took to Instagram to address the situation, as Stereogum points out. “Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop that Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt,” the statement read. “She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”

On Sunday, the song, and the red convertible, were removed altogether for Beyoncé’s second Houston show, the Houston Chronicle reports. Beyoncé addressed the dangerous incident during her performance: “I want to say thank you guys for all of your prayers, all of your well wishes,” she said. The cause of the prop malfunction was not disclosed.

Beyoncé’s highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour kicked off on April 28th in L.A. The Saturday concert was the singers’ first back in the U.S. after tour dates in London and Paris.
