On July 27, fans who attended the final show of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour in Las Vegas were met with a surprise when Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland joined Queen Bey onstage to perform a medley of their classic songs. The reunion was the first time the girl group performed together since Beyoncé headlined Coachella in 2018.

Beyoncé’s wildly popular 32-show Cowboy Carter Tour has smashed records as the highest-grossing country tour and the shortest tour to generate over $400 million in revenue. In addition to Williams and Rowland, the final show featured Shaboozey, who joined Beyoncé for their duet “Sweet Honey Buckin’,” and Jay-Z, who performed “Crazy in Love” and his 2011 song “N—-s in Paris.”

Destiny’s Child formed in 1990 in Houston, Texas, and rose to stardom after the success of their 1999 album The Writing’s on the Wall. They disbanded officially in 2006. Here’s everything that went down during their latest reunion.

Beyoncé sang a new rendition of “ALIEN SUPERSTAR” before Williams and Rowland appeared.

As Beyoncé started singing the Renaissance hit, fans noticed that the track had been modified to contain strains of the girl group’s 2000 song “Independent Woman Part 1,” Stereogum reports.

The trio rose onto the stage together before they launched into a medley of their 2004 song “Lose my Breath” and the Renaissance song “ENERGY.”

Fans erupted as the girl group appeared in gold sparkling outfits and posed as the opening drums of their 2004 hit “Lose my Breath” started to play. As the trio strutted across the stage, Beyoncé welcomed her former group members by saying, “Destiny’s Child, bitch.”

When “Lose my Breath” transitioned into “ENERGY,” Williams and Rowland participated in the viral “mute” challenge, freezing onstage as the crowd cheered.

The group closed out the 4-minute performance with a mashup of their hit “Bootylicious” and Beyoncé’s 2011 song, “Countdown.”

The trio performed the 2001 song “Bootylicious,” taking turns posing to conclude their performance.

After the show, Beyoncé posted photos of the group’s reunion on Instagram.

In the words of Solange, this is our “Mount Rushmore.”
