If there’s one rapper I know doesn’t play about Valentine’s Day, it’s Chow Lee, whose heroic libido and agile flows made last summer’s SEX DRIVE one of our favorite albums of 2024. Naturally, he’s celebrating the holiday with a new 3-song EP, GIRLS CUM FIRST!, a short-and-sweet collection of sexy drill serenades the Long Island rapper recorded on vacation in the Dominican Republic. “Everything was 10 times sexier,” Chow tells me over text. There’s the heartfelt epistle “yes mami!” (“If I drop the ball with you I might as well be handless”) and the mildly-tortured phone sex chronicles of “lemme get ya #,” where a woman keeps on playing games — “you gon fumble me.”
Still, the highlight has to be “krazy 4 u” with 2300, whose September mixtape Bully put a quiet storm spin on verses about lust and love alike. The producer-singer dabbles in sexy drill, but his songs overall reminds me more of the moody ambience of early-era Drake, or the narcotized pluggnb of fellow Queens native FLEE. Those musical instincts are front and center on “krazy 4 u,” which 2300 co-produced alongside PoWR Trav and Benjamin Lasnier, his vocals cresting and coasting over the bobbing instrumental. Not to be outdone, Chow leans into Autotune, tracing out runon flows: “I thought I was P until I got piece of that pussy.”

I caught up with 2300 and Chow Lee via text for a quick chat about how “krazy 4 u” came together, the worst valentines they’ve ever gotten, and some last minute Valentine’s Day advice.
THE FADER: How did you guys connect and put together “krazy 4 u”?
Chow Lee: Literally my mans put me on to his song “bbygirl it’s your world” & I was like, “oh he tough.” So I tapped in with him and we linked up and just started making music together.
2300: Chow tapped in with me last year, and showed an immense amount of support. “Krazy 4 U” came about by way of PoWR Trav sending me some beats, and the vocal sample obviously catching my eye due to my producer tag [Krazy!]. I put my spin on it, made a song based on the vocal sample, sent it to Chow, and the rest is history.
What’s the best date night perfume?
Chow: Versace Eros
2300: Tom Ford Costa Azzurra mixed with some Bath & Body Works (Lost in Santal, preferably). If you have good beard oils and beard butters, that’ll help compliment the smell of your cologne.
What’s the worst Valentine you’ve gotten from a woman?
2300: I’ve never had a bad Valentine’s day. It’s good to have women in your life that understand you 😉
Chow: She argued with me at dinner about some old shit because she was drunk and fucked the whole vibe up.
Last minute Valentine’s date: where should I take my girl?
2300: Either Ricardo’s Steakhouse in Harlem or Cotenna

2300: Write a song about that one girl, and post a snippet of it in your close friends, take everyone out your close friends but her, and say that “this song is about you” If you do it correctly, you’ve immortalized her and she’ll never forget you. If you do it incorrectly, she’ll always have dominion over you.
