From its social media saturation to the garish green that was everywhere, Charli xcx’s BRAT was undeniably a global, cultural phenomenon. But how has the album fared when it comes to pure data: awards, recognition, and trophies?
Over eight months since its release in June 2024, the record and its maker is still taking home awards, the most recent being the BRIT’s prestigious Songwriter of the Year award. And so far in total, Charli xcx has taken home a dozen trophies for songs and content related to the record — proving that when it comes to industry acclaim and recognition, BRAT is her most successful project to date. (Her last as-heavily nominated period was in 2014, tied to her Iggy Azalea song “Fancy,” though she took home only a handful of awards.)

Feb. 2025: The BRIT Awards
The pop star won Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 BRIT awards, the U.K.’s equivalent of the Grammys. It marked her first time taking home a BRIT trophy, coming 12 years into her career. She is also up for Best Dance Act, Best Pop Artist, and Song of the Year for her “Guess” remix with Billie Eilish.
Feb. 2025: Grammys
BRAT won Charli xcx three Grammy awards this year taking home her first ever trophies from the Recording Academy. “Von Dutch” took home Best Dance Pop Recording, while the album itself won Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Package.
Dec. 2024: Billboard Music Awards
Charli swept every category she was nominated for at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, held on December 12, 2024. She took home Top Dance/Electronic Artist, and BRAT won Top Dance/Electronic Album. Her last nominations were in 2015 and 2014, but she didn’t win.
Dec. 2024: Variety Hitmakers Award
Charli was named Hitmaker of the Year at the 2024 Variety Hitmakers Award. In 2020, she took home the Innovator of the Year award, but we can all agree that winning the titular award of an award ceremony is a much bigger deal.
Nov. 2024: Danish Music Awards
BRAT was named International Album of the Year at the 2024 Danish Music Awards which took place in Copenhagen.
Oct. 2024: Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards
Charli xcx was named the 2024 Music Innovator by The Wall Street Journal at their annual Innovator Awards. She was presented the award by Emily Ratajkowski, and used her speech to talk about “pushing the boundaries” and being “prepared to fail.”
Sept. 2024: Mercury Prize
BRAT was shortlisted for the 2024 Mercury Prize which honors 12 exceptional albums released by a U.K. or Irish artist. She lost to English Teacher’s This Could Be Texas, but it was still her second time ever being shortlisted for the award, the first being her 2020 lockdown album how i’m feeling now.
March 2024: Billboard Women In Music
Charli xcx took home the Powerhouse Award at the 2024 Billboard Women In Music ceremony on March 7, 2024. Dressed in a flowing white gown, she also gave her first live performance of “So I,” her tribute to SOPHIE. She was last recognized by Billboard in 2014 with their Hitmaker Award.
