HAIM return with new song “Relationships”

The pop trio return with the lead single from their upcoming fourth album.

It’s been just over four years since Women In Music Pt. 3, the album that brought HAIM a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year and gave the pop trio of sisters the profile they’d deserved since emerging in 2013 with Days Are Gone. Alana, Danielle, and Este last shared a new song in 2023 (“Home” from the Barbie soundtrack) but in 2025, they’ll return in earnest with their as-yet-untitled fourth album. Its lead single is here today, and it’s called “Relationships.”

The new music is co-produced by Danielle and Rostam Batmanglij, who takes over from Danielle’s former production and romantic partner Ariel Rechtshaid. According to a new i-D profile, the track was originally written in 2017 for Something To Tell You, an album that more aligns with the single’s R&B-inspired sound than previous LP Women in Music. When HAIM began writing for their new album, Danielle was drawn to give “Relationships” another shot. “[I had] some weird thing in my head that was like ‘You need to finish this.’”
