The rapper turned to a Toronto-based ice company for help with his latest livestream.
Drake has dropped a new song called “What Did I Miss?” Over a series of brooding verses, Drake appears to open up about feeling betrayed by his peers during his 2024 beef with Kendrick Lamar. “How can some people I love hang around pussies who try me?” he asks at one stage. In the opening verse, meanwhile, he states, “It’s love for my brothers and death to a traitor, let’s go.” The track was produced by Tay Keith alongside DJ Lewis, Elyas, FNZ, Gyz, London Cyr, O Lil Angel, Oz, Patron. When will Drake release Iceman?
Drake debuted “What Did I Miss?” during a July 4 livestream in which he drove around Toronto solo while playing new music for fans watching at home. As @nfr_podcast notes, the stream ended with hints about a project titled Iceman alongside the message “Coming soon.” “Iceman” was also written on the side of the vehicle Drake was driving during his stream.
Fans track down the real Iceman
As CTV News reports, the truck Drake was driving in his stream belongs to a real company. The Iceman is a Toronto-based that supplies providing ice, dry ice, ice machines and custom ice.
According to owner Jake Silva, hundreds of Drake fans contacted him after seeing the rapper driving a truck brandished with the Iceman phone number. “I would say in the first half of the livestream, there was definitely about 200 calls that came in,” he said. “It was very short notice. I got a call, basically on Wednesday, and they asked me if I’d be willing to lend my workplace for a shoot… it just grew from there.”
Silva added that Drake’s Iceman has been in the works for a while. “I have a few friends, close friends, that have worked with Drake’s team before in the past, and there have been hints for a while that he was working on some sort of project that bears the name, or some affiliation with the name Iceman,” he said. We’ve been getting hints of that for a while.”
