Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty to four felonies, including three counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, Variety reports. The rapper was arrested while roaming Los Angeles undressed in the early hours of August 21.

Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, was wandering Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood shortly before 6 a.m. when he charged at officers and was detained, according to a statement by a Los Angeles police spokesperson obtained by the Associated Press. Suspecting an overdose, the officers transported him to a hospital before he was taken to jail.

The pop star was initially booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. Bail was set at $75,000 on August 25 by Judge Sarah Ellenberg.

Lil Nas X shot to stardom when his 2018 hit, “Old Town Road,” spent 19 consecutive weeks at No. 1 and proceeded to sell over 10 million copies. His second album, Dreamboy, the follow-up to his 2021 Grammy-nominated debut project MONTERO, is expected to be released this year.
