The summer isn’t even over yet and Ariana Grande is already making plans for the new year. At least, that’s what a new Instagram post suggests. In a new teaser clip that references Brighter Days Ahead, the short film released in conjunction with her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine, a message reading: See you next year… Announcement loading” appears on the screen. That’s as much as we have to work off right now. Could it be a new album? A tour? Live Nation Concerts are tagged in the IG post, which would suggest the latter. The FADER has reached out for further details.
Earlier this year Grande told fans that she had no plans to “abandon singing & music,” even though she took time away from the pop world while she was in production on Wicked and its upcoming sequel, with the former earning her an Oscar nomination. “I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year,” she stated in July. “Even if it’s just for a little. I love you.”
“It may not look exactly like it did before but I much prefer how it looks in my head. I am having fun. I feel grateful and excited and inspired,” she added, “finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors I love, and doing it my own way.”
Grande hasn’t toured since 2019 and has released two albums since then: Eternal Sunshine and 2020’s Positions. Wicked: For Good is due to hit theaters in November.
